Case Mix Index (CMI)

A value that is assigned to a diagnosis-related group of patients. It is used in order to determine the distribution of resources for the care and treatment of patients in the group.

Managed Care Organization (MCO)

Organizations that provide managed care but have different business models. The organizations are also made up of a variety of physicians, hospitals and other providers.
